Lords of Acid: The Glasshouse - Pomona, CA - 4/26/24

Belgian industrial metal legends Lords of Acid announced their first USA tour in five years. This tour would be called the Make Acid Great Again tour and it would feature the new Acid Queen, Gigi Ricci. The tour would also feature a set by Praga Khan who, not only is a founding member of LOA, but also has his own solo project. This would be the final USA tour for Khan’s solo set, so it’s something not to be missed. The first stop on the tour was the Glass House in Pomona, California and it was set to be a great Friday night.
The lights went out and the nicely packed venue cheered with excitement as the members of Lords of Acid made their way to the stage. The first song performed was “Sex Bomb.” The only member missing was Ricci, which was understandable as she had no lines to sing in this song and the singing was done by Khan. Once the second song “Scrood Bi U” started, Ricci finally came out to deliver her siren vocals onto the audience. Ricci has a strong stage presence as she would dance and head bang to every song. She also loved seducing everyone in the audience with every song. A few more classics performed were: “The Most Wonderful Girl,” “Out Comes the Evil” and “Worship the Lords.” Being that LOA are a theatrical band, it’s no surprise that they had a few tricks up their sleeves. During their performance of “Spank My Booty,” Ricci invited women to come up on stage to dance. It was truly a party that felt like it would never end. LOA played many of their hits from their catalog which included “Rough Sex,” “Voodoo-U,” “Pussy” and “Let’s Get High.” The last song of the night was the catchy song, “The Crablouse.” The song ended, LOA left the stage, and all seemed quiet. After a few minutes, LOA came back out to play some encores and keep the kinkiness going. The first encore was “Drink My Honey.” The final song of the night was one of their most popular songs, “I Sit on Acid.” The song features just two lines of lyrics for the whole song, which are, “Sit on your face. I wanna sit on your face.” A simple, yet very catchy song where you’ll find yourself easily singing along to it. LOA finished their set, thanked the audience for a great start to the tour, then left the stage once again. LOA always put on a great show and their tour keeps going until the middle of June, so if you see them coming to your area, be sure to go see them!
