Steel Panther: The Majestic Ventura Theater - Ventura, CA - 3/19/25
Comedic glam metal band Steel Panther set out to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut album, Feel the Steel. Steel Panther have come a long way since the release of their debut album. From playing weekly at small clubs to the now extinct House of Blues in Hollywood. The Feel the Steel 15th Anniversary Tour is doing really well with everyone raving about the live shows about how not only they are really entertaining, but also hilarious and are a guaranteed good time. Halfway through the tour, Steel Panther made their way to the beach at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, California. Ventura knows how to show Steel Panther a good time and tonight would be no exception.
The venue was nicely packed as the lights went out and the crowd cheered with excitement. The band members made their way to the stage to begin the show with “Eyes of a Panther” from the Feel the Steel album. Because what better way to start a show than with a song about a cougar. The first thing you should notice is that there was a pole on both sides of the stage. Each one had a pole dancer. These pole dancers were exclusive to the Ventura show, so it made things even better. The show continued with “It Won’t Suck Itself”. By now, you’ve probably figured out that Steel Panther’s lyrics are very comical and will often leave you laughing at how ridiculous the songs are. A few more hits were played including “Asian Hooker”, “Friends with Benefits”, and “The Shocker”. After that, it was time for a band introduction. The members introduced were Stix Zadinia (drums), Satchel (guitar), Michael Starr (vocals) and their newest member Spyder (bass). In between songs, Steel Panther would crack jokes at each other and to the crowd. One of them being how Satchel would let the audience know that t-shirts at the merch booth were $40, but, for tonight, there would be a special for two shirts for $80. After intros were done, Satchel took it upon himself to treat the audience to a tasty guitar solo that lasted several minutes. It covered both an original solo and snippets of other popular rock and metal songs. The show started back up and it was time for the best part of the show. The members came to the front of the stage and brought up a woman from the crowd. They sang some quick songs to her and eventually the mic was given to Zadinia. On his mark, he asked the fan to show off her goods. The fan easily obliged and the whole venue was wowed. The next song of the show would start which was “Girl from Oklahoma”. Not too long after the song started, the band had to stop the song because another fan up front was crying that she wasn’t picked to be on stage. They ended up having two girls on stage for the song to be serenaded. For the next couple of songs, Steel Panther allowed any women to go up stage and dance with them during the performances of “17 Girls” and “Eatin’ Ain’t Cheatin’”. Even Starr mentioned on how any dudes that came with their wives or girlfriends was a mistake on their part. It’s always a beautiful sight seeing so many women on stage dancing and having the time of their life. Especially when they willingly flashed the audience. The women were escorted off stage as Steel Panther continued the show with “Community Property”, one of their best and most popular songs. To end their set, they played what is perhaps their most popular song, “Death to All but Metal”. A song that rips into other bands and artists that are not nearly as cool as Steel Panther. The song ended and Steel Panther left the stage. All seemed quiet for a few minutes. Steel Panther came back out along with the dancing poles. The encore for the show is another one of their most popular songs, “Gloryhole”. More pole dancers joined the song, and it made for an even better ending song, especially when that song is about blowing your load at a gloryhole regardless of who or what is on the other side. The show came to an end again, this time for real. Steel Panther did high fives with fans, threw out guitar picks and then took one huge photo with the crowd. They always put on an amazing show and, if you choose to go, you’re in for an unforgettable experience as well as leaving stickier than before. Death to All but Metal!
