W.A.S.P./Armored Saint: Hollywood Palladium - Los Angeles, CA - 12/14/24

Heavy metal legends W.A.S.P. and Armored Saint once again teamed up for a tour that lasted several weeks. This tour was extra special because W.A.S.P. were celebrating 40 years of their self-titled debut album. To mark the occasion, W.A.S.P. decided to play the entire album in its entirety for the first time ever. The final stop on the tour was The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California. Saturday night was the perfect way to spend with these two living metal titans.
Armored Saint are still touring for their latest album Punching the Sky which was released in 2020. A quick update from the band lets us know that they are no working on new music! For now, they went on tour with W.A.S.P. as support. The venue was nicely packed as the lights went out and the crowd cheered with excitement. The members of the band came out one by one and started their show with “End of the Attention Span.” Their hometown crowd was hyped to have Armored Saint play in front of them once again. The next two songs were “Raising Fear” and “Nervous Man.” For the fourth song, Armored Saint played their most famous song, “March of the Saint.” Plenty of fans could be seen raising their horns and singing along. This show had some surprises for the fans. The next song was a special song “Mutiny on the World.” This song hadn’t been played since 1986 and was a real treat for everyone in attendance. All the members shred and played the night away with all the energy they had even when it was the last show of the tour. During the performance of “Can U Deliver”, singer John Bush helped himself to going to the balcony and giving the fans sitting on the balcony a front row seat to the show. With a criminally short set time, it was time for Armored Saint to call it a night. The final song of the night was “Reign of Fire” from their highly acclaimed album, Symbol of Salvation. Armored Saint finished up their show and left the stage as the audience cheered for their amazing performance. Hopefully it’s not too long before they come back and play new music live.
W.A.S.P. are no strangers to the metal world. They quickly made their mark in the metal community with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1984. This tour marks the first time that the album will be played in full. The stage was set, and the audience was hungry for more music. The lights went out once again and the now fully packed venue roared with excitement. Frontman Blackie Lawless took the stage front and center and started their performance with the first song from the debut album, which is also their most famous song, “I Wanna Be Somebody.” W.A.S.P. was off to a great start with a powerful song. They followed it up with another one of their best songs, “L.O.V.E. Machine.” The crowd was on their feet as they loved having W.A.S.P. performing again. W.A.S.P. played more songs from their debut album including “The Flame”, “Sleeping (In the Fire)”, “School Daze”, and “Hellion.” No matter what song was played, W.A.S.P. played each song to perfection. The last song of the album was played which was “The Torture Never Stops.” Once the whole album was played, W.A.S.P. took a break for a couple of minutes and went backstage. After the break, circus lights lit up the stage so the next part of the show could begin. The first song for the encore set was “Inside the Electric Circus.” W.A.S.P. was playing a medley of a variety of their songs including “Scream Until You Like It”, “Forever Free”, and “The Headless Children.” Now nearing the end of the show, W.A.S.P. had to bring out the big guns with the last couple of songs. The stage went dark as Lawless was bathed in a purple light as he sang the chorus to “Wild Child” without a band. After that, the rest of the band joined and W.A.S.P. fully played “Wild Child” and had the crowd singing along. Now, it was time for the show to come to an end. Lawless made one last speech to the audience, then jumped into grand finale “Blind in Texas.” It was the last chance that Los Angeles had to give whatever energy they had to the band. The show came to an end, W.A.S.P. thanked the audience for coming out and then left the stage for the final time. A great ending to an amazing tour. W.A.S.P. has been working on new music and hopefully it’s not long before they’re back out on the road.
